Genghis Khan by ADamselinDesign Genghis Khan by ADamselinDesign

Genghis Khan was born Temujin, in approximately 1162. He was the founder and Great Khan (emperor) of the Mongol Empire, which became the largest empire in history after his death in August 1227.

Genghis Khan came to power by uniting many of the nomadic tribes of northeast Asia. After creating the Mongol Empire and being proclaimed "Genghis Khan," he started the Mongolian invasions that resulted in the conquest of most of Eurasia. By the end of his life, the Mongol Empire occupied a substantial portion of Central Asia and China.

Genghis Khan was actually pretty tolerant of the various religions and was interested in learning philosophical and moral lessons from them. He often consulted Buddhist monks, Muslims, Christian missionaries, and even the Taoist monk Qiu Chuji to learn about their beliefs.

He is definitely an interesting man who should be remembered for more than the massacre of civilian populations.

Wow, thank you very much! I am thrilled you like it so much. Too Much Hugging

This piece would not have been possible without your amazing photo of an amazing model, so I owe you guys! As soon as I saw your Mongolian reenactment stock I immediately thought of Genghis Khan and thought he'd make a great addition to my "World Cultures: Contemporary and Historical" art series.

I love historical pieces also.

I really like your artwork. You get the feeling of him surveying his immediate empire and sitting back evaluating/watching. Great job! :)
